Research Interests: advertising; international and intercultural communication; media, culture, and society; media history; photojournalism; and Transatlantic media flows, especially between the United States and France

Ed is also the Associate Editor of Advertising & Society Quarterly (previously Advertising & Society Review), a journal that focuses on advertising's roles in society, culture, history, and the economy. The journal is published in partnership with the Advertising Educational Foundation (AEF) and distributed online through Johns Hopkins University's Project MUSE.
