Enrollment Tips – New Transfer Students

 Fall 2021 Enrollment Tips

Please see the Prospective Students page for Fall Transfer Students for more information for incoming transfer students.

If you are eligible to apply to Media Studies in Fall 2021:

Phase 1 (July 13 – August 15) – Students may enroll and waitlist in up to 17.5 units.

  • Media Studies 111B/Media Studies 112 – New transfer students are eligible to waitlist in Media Studies 111B or Media Studies 112.  Waitlisted seats will be allocated according to an online questionnaire*. Priority
order is generally (1) declared majors (2) intended majors (students who have completed MEDIAST 10/W10/N10 or equivalent), then (3) non-majors. We also factor in class standing (Senior, Junior, Sophomore, etc.) so that we prioritize graduating seniors within the major.
Please fill out the survey as soon as you receive it.
*The first questionnaire will be sent between July 22nd and July 26th to students on the waitlist. The survey will continue to be sent out weekly as students add themselves to the waitlist, until the course is full.
  • Declared Media Studies majors have enrollment priority for all Media Studies upper-division courses (Media Studies 111B, 112, 104D, 104E, 131, 170, 180, and 190)**.
