Exciting News! Beginning fall 2024, Media Studies will no longer be a high-demand major and the requirements to declare will change. The prerequisite courses will remain the same. The deadlines differ depending on whether you are eligible to submit a declaration form or application form in fall 2024.
Effective Fall 2024, the new declaration requirements for the Media Studies major will be as follows:
- Complete the four (4) prerequisites with a grade of a C or better in each course.
- Have a Media Studies GPA of 2.0 or higher. This major GPA will include all Media Studies-relevant courses including their completed prerequisites, core courses, and electives
- Students are strongly encouraged to declare the major as soon as they are eligible to allow ample time to complete all degree requirements within the L&S Unit Ceiling and Semester Limits.

If you are a student who intended to apply in Fall 2024 with a Standard or Appeal application, please carefully review the Applying Overview page as there will be one final application period in Fall 2024.
