Office Hours
Chelsea Prieto (she/her/hers) is an Academic Advisor for the Media Studies program and advises intended and declared students in the major.
She offers remote and in-person advising through one-on-one appointments, drop-in hours, and by email. Please see below for specific meeting times and additional information regarding my advising hours.
Office Location Update
Media Studies has a new office location at 506 UAB (the new Undergraduate Academic Building)! UAB is located between the Valley Life Sciences Building (VSLB) and Dwinelle Hall. UAB is not on the maps yet, but it’s where this parking lot used to be!
The main entrance elevators will be found on the west side of the building (the part of the building facing towards downtown Berkeley/BART). Take the elevator to the 5th floor and that’s where you’ll find the Media Studies offices.
If you’re attending drop-in advising in-person, note that there will now be a QR to check-in before meeting with me. Please see below for details.

Scheduled Appointments
Scheduled appointments are one-on-one, 30 minute sessions to talk about things like the Media Studies major, additional programs you might be interested, or enrollment related questions. Drop-In Advising
Drop-In Advising is a great way to meet with advisors for any quick questions or to get immediate assistance. Students will meet with me in the order that they arrive. During busier advising times, there may be a wait. Have your Student ID# and questions ready!
In-Person Drop-in
When you come up to the 5th floor of UAB, look for a QR code to check-in for drop-in advising. The sign may be located across the lobby, over by the conference rooms. Students will need to check-in and then wait in that lobby area. Students should not wait in the hallways or outside my office. I’ll go over and call in students in the order that they check-in.
Zoom Drop-in
To access Zoom drop-in, please follow the links below to visit my Drop-In Advising Meeting Room. Note that the Zoom meeting room will only be open during the hours listed. Upon entering, students will be placed in a waiting room and allowed into the meeting in the order that they enter.
