A constitutional lawyer by training, from 2013-2016 Professor King led the technology policy and advocacy program at the Committee to Protect Journalists, an independent, nonprofit organization that promotes press freedom worldwide. Based in San Francisco, he protects the rights of journalists through advocacy, public education, and engagement with policymakers across the globe. Research Interests: Freedoms of speech, press, petition and assembly; citizen journalism; Internet policy; privacy; technology; online surveillance and censorship; open government Geoffrey King has taught MS 104D: Privacy in the Digital Age since Fall 2011.
Rich Jaroslovsky

Rich Jaroslovsky was the founding Managing Editor of The Wall Street Journal Online, and founded and served as the first president of the Online News Association. He was also White House correspondent and national political editor of The Journal, and executive editor and technology columnist for Bloomberg News. Hes currently Vice President for Content & Chief Journalist at SmartNews, a news aggregator for mobile devices. Research interests: Media history; impact of digital technologies on newsgathering and dissemination of news; changing economic models of media organizations.
